Former NBA player and would-be basketball coach Vincent Askew arrested for sex with team recruit

Vincent Askew, the 42 year old man who was under consideration to be the next basketball coach at Gulliver Preparatory School in Pinecrest, Florida, has been arrested after allegedly having sex with a girl he tried to recruit for the team.

Vincent Askew is charged with 3 counts of sexual battery. Askew played for 8 different NBA teams in 9 seasons, including the 76ers, Bullets, Kings, Golden State Warriors, Nets, SuperSonics, Pacers, and Nuggets.

It is alleged that the relationship between Askew and the 16 year old girl was consensual and lasted for about 3 months. Askew was released on $22,000 bond after his arrest.
