Chad Widener arrested for sending a text message to student

37 year old Chad Widener, a former teacher at Miami East Junior High School in Casstown, Ohio, as well as a girls basketball coach at the High School in town, has been arrested for allegedly sending a 15 year old female student a sexually related text message.

Widener is charged with a 5th degree felony charge of importuning, which to me sounds like a high-court misdemeanor. Which means that it's not technically a felony, but its a misdemeanor that is tried in circuit court, and therefore if found guilty, the defendant will be considered a felon, but not considered to have ever been convicted of a felony. Though I could be wrong.

Wideners father is reportedly the Miami County Commissioner. That might help. This case is kinda ridiculous. A text message? Lame.
